Zitat von The PWAAlles anzeigenDear Sailors
In October last year, the PWA announced changes to the rules regarding equipment limitations and registration at Slalom events. Under the current rules, sailors register 4 sails and 2 boards for each contest. For 2009, it was announced that sailors would no longer register equipment for each event, but would instead register 6 sails sand 3 boards for the entire season, to help limit the amount of equipment competitors had to own and travel with.
It was also announced that there would be a “Joker” rule, which allowed competitors to register one extra board and sail for one event each year.
Subsequent to the October announcement, the new rules have been debated in depth among the Slalom fleet and it has been decided to scrap the Joker rule. The decision to scrap the rule was taken based on a majority opinion that it was unnecessary and would increase the amount of equipment that competitors had to travel with.
Therefore, for 2009, competitors will now simply register 6 sails and 3 boards for the entire season, at their first event of the year. For the coming 2008 season competitors will still register 4 sails and 2 boards at each event as in previous years.
Best regards
The PWA
