Hier etwas neues von F2:
Zitat von PDAlles anzeigenHi Everybody,
It looks like the Slalom issue is not an easy one and people are still confused and not sure what to order or buy…!
I know the way we named the boards in the past (XS, S, M, L,…) is not the best as it is confusing every year when the size changes. For the future we will name them by width (56, 58, 63,…) as this is what is important.
First of I would like to inform you once more about the SX Team Edition that :
- SX Team Edition is made for the Team to test them in competition and it is not proofen if it is better than the regular SX (what is new doesn’t automatically mean it is better).
- Because of customer request we produced more of this board but there will be no performance claims accepted as those boards were planed only for the “Team” to get test result feedback in competition.
- Don’t forget, our team is set up with regular SX and SX Team Edition so they have a back up if the SX Team Edition fails in performance – for most people it will be wasted money.
- If the SX Team Edition is better than the SX it doesn’t mean it “flys” – it will probably be better in some attributes, maybe in jibing or Top Speed or early planing,…, but sure not in everything.
- If you want to be on the save side and buy/sell a good board and have happy customers,…, you are for sure better on with the regular SX.
More Info:
The most people still chose by Volume but todays boards are quite different and the width is becoming very important for the choice of the right Slalom board.
The new sizes of SX Team Edition are a bit different to fit them better for the Worldcup rule “Slalom 42”. The rule is: For every event there must be 2 boards and 4 sails registered at the registration day before racing.
As we never know 100% what kind of conditions are coming up there is a risk to chose the right size board so we tried to change the sizes a bit to get a easier choice.
Example for the season 2007 we had SX L (75cm) and SX XL (80cm) so there are 2 boards to chose for light wind which makes the decision a bit harder.
For 2009 we plan to have only 1 board of 77cm so the decision will be easier.
To get a better understanding about which board is which one,…, I made a list so you can see the comparison.
- 2007 boards
- 2008 SX regular (no more pipes, different construction – 600g lighter)
- 2008 SX Team Edition (Testboards for 2009 shape)
